FlowCraft Capture — Privacy Policy

FlowCraft Capture is a browser extension that turns a workflow you perform in your browser into a step-by-step FlowCraft guide. This policy explains exactly what the extension accesses, when, and why. In short: it only records while you are actively capturing, and everything it collects is sent to your own FlowCraft workspace — nowhere else.
What the extension accesses
- Your FlowCraft login session. The extension reads your FlowCraft session cookie so it can save captured guides to your account without a separate login. It is used only to authenticate requests to your FlowCraft server.
- Page screenshots and click/keystroke metadata — only during an active capture. When you press Start capture, the extension records the elements you click, the fields you type into, and page navigations, and takes a screenshot of the visible tab for each step. Nothing is recorded before you start or after you press Stop.
- An optional tab video. If you tick “Also record this tab as a video,” the extension records the active tab’s video for the duration of the capture and uploads it to your guide.
- Optional microphone audio (Magic Mic). If you enable Magic Mic, the extension records your microphone while you capture and uploads it to your FlowCraft server, which transcribes it into per-step narration. Audio is captured only while a capture is active and only when you turn Magic Mic on.
What it does NOT do
- It does not track your browsing when you are not capturing.
- Password fields are masked — typed passwords are never stored in a step.
- It does not sell, share, or send your data to any third party, advertiser, or analytics provider. Captured data goes only to the FlowCraft server you are signed in to.
- It does not use your data to train models outside your workspace.
Where your data goes
Captured steps, screenshots, and any tab recording are uploaded directly to your FlowCraft workspace over HTTPS and stored there under your organization’s account. The extension itself keeps only a small amount of local state (the current capture’s step count and status) in the browser’s extension storage, which is cleared when the capture ends.
Permissions we request and why
- Host access (all sites) — to record steps and screenshots on the page whose workflow you are documenting.
- cookies — to read your FlowCraft login session for authentication.
- tabs / activeTab / scripting — to attach the step recorder to the tab you are capturing.
- tabCapture / offscreen — to record the optional tab video.
- storage — to remember the current capture’s status.
Data retention & deletion
Guides and their media live in your FlowCraft workspace and follow your workspace’s retention settings. You can delete any guide (and its screenshots and video) at any time from FlowCraft, which removes the associated captured data.
